Sarah Lerch, born in 1983, grew up in Bern, Switzerland. After two years studying Social Anthropology in Fribourg, she decided to dedicate herself fully to theatre. From 2004 to 2007 she studied at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri, the Swiss university for physical theatre.

After graduating in 2007, she co-founded the company PPcie, which created several productions including the dance-theatre piece Mimikry, the burlesque short theatre program Stück für Stück, and the children’s theatre project Theater im Schloss.

From 2009 to 2012 she worked full-time with the international theatre company Divadlo Continuo, based in the Czech Republic. During this period she performed in numerous productions, including the outdoor performance Finis Terrae, the site-specific projects Krajina na znamení, Jizvy v kameni, and Jezero Grus Grus, as well as an acrobatic intermezzo in The Bartered Bride at the State Opera in Prague.

Between 2011 and 2014 she completed the MA program at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri. During her studies she received the Migros Cultural Percent Award twice (2012 and 2013) and became a member of the Swiss Study Foundation.

Since then, she has been developing her own artistic projects combining dance, acrobatics, music, and visual arts. Her works include blocage (2013), Re Fu (2013), and Iros Anghelos (2020), created with WaKouwa Teatro at the cultural centre La Fabbrica in Losone, Ticino.

Alongside her own creations, she performs, directs, and teaches in various projects across Switzerland, and tours internationally with the company Mummenschanz.
